Becoming a Harvey's franchisee partner is seen as a long-term commitment and as such, they are looking for partners who embody their mindset and understand their place in the fast-food market.
Harvey's application process is more focused on you as an entrepreneur and less so on previous experiences with restaurants. They want to be sure that you are a people person, someone who will be a good representative of the Harvey's brand and less so important in being technically proficient in the process of running a fast-food restaurant.
To get started, applicants are required to submit an evaluation to Harvey's with info on the type of location and in which area they would like to open a franchise, directly on their website. Harvey's is currently looking to aggressively expand into Quebec, so if you are looking to open a restaurant in Quebec, Harvey's might be the right choice for you.
The ideal applicant has an entrepreneurial aptitude, a track record of being a leader in their community, and have a passion for the industry and burgers.
From there, the next step after would be an interview with Harvey's representatives. The approval process length depends greatly on how fast the applicant would like to proceed with opening a franchise location and once the team has ensured the meeting of all the financial requirements.
Famous for its flame-grilled burgers and an emphasis on fresh locally sourced ingredients, Harvey's reigns supreme as one of the top burger brands in the Canadian market.
Harvey’s is owned by Cara Operations Ltd. Cara is Canada’s most historic and biggest restaurant/fast-food company and owns many of Canada’s most recognizable restaurants such as; Swiss Chalet, Kelsey’s, Montana’s, Milestones and Harvey’s. When becoming a partner you can rest assured that you have the backing of experts in the Canadian restaurant sphere.
Harvey’s also has industry-leading training programs that prepare you to run your franchise and provide continuous support from the start of the franchise agreement through to the opening of your restaurant and ahead. Harvey’s post-launch support provides owners with a support structure, so owners are never abandoned and continue to receive a recommendation to grow even if they are already thriving.
The support and partnerships opportunities that Harvey's provides help build and sustain strong relationships with franchisees and this has been a driving factor that has led them to be one of the top franchises in Canada.
Harvey's looks for candidates who are both financially prepared and aligned with the values that they hold.
Restaurant experience is not required but previous success in another business is a must. If you have experience running another type of business that includes working with employees and customers, managing finances and leading teams, this will greatly help with your evaluation.
